CBE 40485 - Biological Thermodynamics

Semester: Fall

This course provides a survey of the use and application of classical and statistical thermodynamics to biological systems. It covers how the First and Second Laws can be applied to living systems. Thermodynamic concepts such as free energy and equilibrium are used to examine biochemical reactions, energy conversion, enzyme behavior, protein structure and folding, membrane transport and molecular pharmacology.
