Seven University of Notre Dame College of Engineering faculty members have been named Collegiate Professors in recognition of their exceptional contributions to research, teaching and service. Awarded across all professor ranks, this prestigious title honors faculty who have demonstrated sustained and significant impact in their field and on the University community.
All appointments were effective July 1, 2026.
“These seven talented faculty members are making a tangible difference—whether through clean water, data security, AI innovation, or transformational teaching,” said Patricia J. Culligan, the Matthew H. McCloskey Dean of Engineering. “I am delighted to see their commitment to students and our mission recognized with this honor.”

Kyle Bibby has been named the Keating-Crawford Collegiate Professor of Environmental Engineering in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Earth Sciences. Bibby’s research focuses on safeguarding public health by tracking the presence and survival of human pathogens in our water systems and the indoor environments we inhabit daily.

Ramzi Bualuan has been named the Dunn Family Teaching Professor of Computer Science and Engineering. Bualuan teaches Fundamentals of Computing, a required course for all computer science and computer engineering majors, serves as the Department of Computer Science and Engineering’s director of undergraduate studies, and leads the summer Introduction to Engineering Program.

Yamil Colón has been named the John K. and Regina C. Gschwind Collegiate Professor in Chemical Engineering in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. His research uses molecular modeling and artificial intelligence to accelerate the discovery and design of advanced porous materials for applications in energy storage, gas separation, water harvesting and environmental sustainability.

Kyle Doudrick has been named the Rooney Family Collegiate Professor of Environmental Engineering in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Earth Sciences. His research focuses on emerging contaminants, including PFAS, or “forever chemicals,” and micro- and nanoplastics, with an emphasis on developing cost-effective treatment solutions and improving conventional water treatment processes.

Victoria Goodrich has been named the Dunn Family Teaching Professor of Chemical Engineering in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. Her teaching and educational research investigate how chemical engineering students bridge classroom learning and laboratory practice.

Wenying Ji has been named the Henry Massman Collegiate Professor of Construction Management in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Earth Sciences. He integrates artificial intelligence, advanced data analytics, and complex systems to advance construction and infrastructure management.

Taeho Jung has been named the Dennis O. Doughty Collegiate Professor of Data Security and Privacy in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. His research leverages cryptography and blockchain technologies to enhance data security and privacy in cyberspace.
