Areas of Interest

Prof. Miller’s research lies in the connections between the synthesis, processing, and structure of materials and their performance. In particular, his research focuses on environmentally benign corrosion inhibitors that self-catalyze protective film growth and significantly improve corrosion resistance, fabrication of sensitive IR detectors and selective bacterial sensors, and PEM fuel cell electrodes. Electrochemical methods are used to fabricate ordered templates with nano-meter sized features directly on silicon wafers for use in the fabrication of sensitive IR detectors and selective bacterial sensors.
